Keith Campbell is owner and principal consultant of Campbell Management Services LLC, a firm that provides guidance related to manufacturing technology planning and change management as the result of technology deployment. In this capacity he has had opportunity to advise technology providers, consumer goods manufacturers, educational institutions and workforce and economic development organizations on the impact of advanced technology on manufacturers and their workforces. Most recently he has been engaged in advancing technology education in Pennsylvania in the areas of mechatronics and industrial maintenance and in assisting a packaging machinery company with organizational development and growth.  

 

Mr. Campbell has frequently been asked to speak in both the US and Europe and has several published articles on the topics of mechatronics, packaging machinery, automation architectures, and justification of modernization. He writes OnTheEdgeBlog.com for Packaging World magazine. He is the founding Director and served as Executive Director of the OMAC Packaging Workgroup, an organization of multi-national packagers, technology providers and machinery suppliers committed to open standards for the design of advanced packaging machines and systems. As a Senior Member of the Instrument, Systems and Automation Society he served as Director of the Food and Pharmaceutical Industries Division of ISA during its period of most rapid development and growth. The Division established the annual Keith S. Campbell Award for the best technical presentation from within the food industry in honor of his contributions to the society. Keith has served on advisory boards to state government, professional societies, educational institutions and corporations to assist with technology planning, program development and business process improvement.

Keith is retired from Hershey Foods Corporation (The Hershey Company) where his career spanned 28 years in a variety of technical and management positions. These included roles in plant engineering and maintenance, information technology, and corporate engineering. He was most recently Director, Automation and Integration, with overall responsibility for automation, controls, factory computing and electrical engineering for plants across North America. He was instrumental in establishing advanced computer system architectures for both the factory floor and office; assisted with the corporate-wide implementation of a major ERP system; served on the manufacturing capital committee; and was responsible for manufacturing technology planning.

 

Keith is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.  His BS Cum Laude in Physics has given him the broad base of technical knowledge that is critical to today's advances in mechatronics.
